Description |
This tinplate, stick pin political button created for the Alf Landon and Frank Knox campaign for president. The button has a black background with yellow ink. It features an elephant facing towards the left side of the button with the letters, "G.O.P." on its side. Above and below the elephant is the inscription, "LANDON / KNOX." The back of the button contains the maker's mark, which is inscribed, "EDW. W. MEREDITH / PEORIA." There are also two union labels printed in blue on the back of the button. The Amalgamated Lithographers of America label is at the top of the button while the Sheet Metal Workers International Association label is at the bottom. |
