Notes |
Worn by former KHS staff member Anne McDonnell in the movie "SeaBiscuit" staring Tobey Maguire that was filmed in Lexington at Keeneland in late 2002/ early 2003. Anne, along with many local people, was an extra in a crowd scene and was given this fake hat to wear. The movie was based on the bestseller by Laura Hillenbrand and is the true Depression-era story of perseverance and triumph about a down-and-out racehorse who became famous when its owner (played by Jeff Bridges) teamed up with a boxer-turned-jockey (Tobey Maguire) and a Wild West showman (Chris Cooper) to win Horse of the Year honors in 1938. |
