Bullitt County native Mary Harper (May 13, 1929 - May 9, 2012) served two terms in the Kentucky House of Representatives, from 2003 to 2006. She first took office when she was 74 years old. She was a retired educator having served as a teacher for 32 years, mostly at Overdale Elementary School. Representative Harper had a lifelong interest in politics, and she was the widow of former State Representative and Gubernatorial candidate Representative John Harper. She served as a member of the Education; Seniors, Military Affairs, and Public Safety; and Tourism Development and Energy Committees. |
