Description |
This is a United States Air Force E.T.O. or "Ike" jacket. It is a M1944 made of blue wool. It has a four button front. There is a snap at the waist. It has two patch pockets with pleats and one-button cuffs. There is a button on the waist at the left and the right for size adjustment. The insignia on the arms has a technical sergeant rank. The left shoulder has a circular patch with a bear on it that is the distinctive unit insignia for the 545th Military Police Company. There is a set of two ribbons on a ribbon bar above one pocket. There are two internal pockets. |
Notes |
Worn by Technical Sergeant David M. Stratton (1917-1956) throughout the Korean War. Born in Lexington, he moved to West Virginia at a young age after the death of his feather. He served 17 years in the Army Air Forces/Air Force up until his death. He was last stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base outside Dayton. Donated by his mother, Linda Dodge Stratton. |
