Description |
This button was produced to commemorate Charles Lindbergh's solo nonstop flight over the Atlantic. The button is a celluloid process button with a tinplate backing, and has a flag pattern around the edge. The words "New York 7:51 A.M. May 20th Paris 5:21 P.M. May 21st, Captain Charles 'Plucky' Lindbergh" are printed around the button's border. A black and white image of Lindbergh adorns the center of the button. The ribbon is a narrow red white and blue strip attached to the bottom of the button |

Charles Lindbergh, a little-known airplane pilot in 1927, became the first to successfully fly the transatlantic route. Charles made the trip in 33.5 hours. He and his airplane, the Spirit of St. Louis, became world famous instantly. |
