Description |
This is an advertisement out of "Kenny's Illustrated Cincinnati" with two advertisements on the front and back from 1875. The first image is for "Lambert & Gordon, Proprietors, Olive Machine-Shops, Foundry, and Boiler-Yards" and depicts a large three story factory with the company name on the left side and "Machine Shop" on a sign on the right side. There is a smaller factory building to the right with a sign that reads "Boiler Yard" on it. There are more buildings to the factory in the back at the left of the image with smokestacks on them. There are several people walking around in the front and the side of the building along with a horse drawn wagon. The image on the back is for "The Norton Iron Works" and depicts a very large factory with several buildings and towers along with some having smokestacks on them. There is an open field in the background and a train to the right of the factory. In the foreground there is a river with two steamboats. There is also a ramp going down from the factory to the river where there are three barges and men waiting for the material. The print around the two images describes what they made. |
