Unused postcard of color photograph of George Wallace standing at a podium while a seated audience looks on behind him. The reverse states that the postcard was produced by Polychrome Picture Products of Decatur, Alabama, and the color was enhanced by Hub Gardner. The printed text on the reverse reads: "Hon. George C. Wallace. During the Wallace Administration, many Colleges and Trade Schools came into existence throughout the State of Alabama within areas of greatest need. This Policy enables those interested in self-improvement to more conveniently increase their knowledge and improve their skills without leaving their homes or jobs. The "Little Judge" stands straight and talks straight, especially in behalf of better education [bold] for less commutation [bold]." |

George Wallace (1919-1998) was the 45th governor of Alabama who served two nonconsecutive terms (1963-1967) and (1983-1987) and two consecutive terms (1971-1979). He unsuccessfully ran for President of the United States four times. In 1972 an assassination attempt left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair for the remainder of his life. |
