Description |
This is a circular political button, made by lithographic process, for Adlai Stevenson and Estes Kefauver’s 1956 presidential campaign. It has a horizontally striped red, white, and blue background with the names, "ADLAI/AND/ESTES", in blue print located on the middle, white stripe. There are three union labels located on the left, right, and top edges of the button. There are three additional union labels printed in blue on the back. There is a stickpin located on the back. |
Notes |
Adlai Stevenson, the Democratic nominee in 1952 and 1956, lost to Republican Dwight Eisenhower. Found in collection in accumulated poltical buttons and emphemera with no obvious source. Probably collected in haphazard fashion by KHS staff as political events and personalities occurred. |
