Description |
This is a Model 1902 Army officers' sword and scabbard. It was used as a cadet sword at the Kentucky Military Institute. The sword has a black grip and adorned blade. The scabbard has two hanging rings and an unadorned drag. The inscription under the sword's handguard reads, "Meyers / New York / Spartan trade mark / N.S. Meyer, Inc. / West Germany." |

This collection belonged to Frederick Fabian Howard, Jr., the donor's son. Howard was a member of the Kentucky Military Institute (KMI) class of 1972. The 1972 class was the last KMI class. |
