Description |
This is a fixed diameter hollow auger. There is a square-shaped point on one end, and a hollow opening with a flared metal collar at the other. There is a screw on one side. |
Notes |
A bit brace tool used to cut a round tenon on a wagon spoke or chair rung. The hollow augur was a common tool in repair shops as well as in wheelwright shops. |
