A saddle towel was used under the racing saddle to protect the horse and show the owner's colors. C.V. Whitney was a major thoroughbred horse racing figure with a farm located on Bryan Station Road east of Lexington. This towel came from Keeneland race track on Versailles Road in Fayette County, Ky. |
