Description |
This is a plastic name tag with a ribbon for the reunion of U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II in 1979. There is a red stripe across the top of the white paper insert with the black typed name of the donor, Alene Elliott, and Kentucky. There is also white lettering on the red stripe that reads "WELCOME' and red printed lettering on the bottom that reads "TRAVEL AND CONVENTION DEPARTMENT/ MOBILE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE". The nametag has a metal pinback attached to the back. The maroon satin ribbon is pinked on both ends, taped to the back of the nametag and has metallic gold lettering on the front that reads "U.S. SUBMARINE/ VETERANS/ W.W. II/ 25th SILVER/ ANNIVERSARY/ MOBILE, ALABAMA/ AUGUST 1-5 1979". |

This belonged to the donor, Alene Elliott. Alene and her husband, Ewert W. Elliott, were members of the United States Submarine Veterans of World War II (USSVWWII). Ewert served aboard the USS Seal (SS-183) and the USS Macabi (SS-375) submarines in World War II. |
