This is a hammered silver napkin ring with applied designs of bonsai tree and butterfly. |
Notes |
The Hemingray silver was left in the vault of the First National Bank of Covington sometime before the death of Daniel Carroll Hemingray in 1911. His wife Clara Keck Hemingray died in 1943 and left no provision for the disposition of the silver. The Hemingrays lived on the northeast corner of Seventh and Greenup Streets in Covington. Daniel Hemingray was secretary-treasurer of the Hemingray Glass Company and also owned a glass plant in Muncie, Indiana. The silver was transferred by Governor Collins in 1987 to the KHS following its submission as abandoned property by the Kentucky National Bank in Covington. |
