Notes |
This is an example of the enlisted man's uniform prescribed by Adjutant General Joseph P. Nuckols' 1881 General Order No. 9. This order was the first attempt to regulate the style of uniform being worn by the Kentucky State Guard. This is the first jacket designed for the Kentucky State Guard after the Civil War. It was designed by Adj't. General Nuckols, whose frock coats and several hats are in the collection 1992.88. |
