Description |
This is a stoneware model of the USS Louisville (SSN-724). The top half of the submarine is dark grey and the underside is painted red. There is a ridge running down the top of the submarine slightly to the left of center that trails off towards the left at the rear of the sub. The top of the submarine has a vertical sail with two horizontal sail palnes. The number 724 is written on either side of the sail in white. The tail of the submarine has two vertical rudders and two horizontal stern planes. The propeller is painted yellow. The model rests on a hollow stoneware base that has been painted brown. White lettering on either side of the base reads, " USS LOUISVILLE SSN 724." The base has two holes in the bottom at four leather feet, one at each corner. "MADE IN USA" is etched into the underside of the base and there is a blue maker's mark stamped over it. |
