Description |
This is Fred R. Miller's identification badge from the 22nd annual state convention for the American Legion. The piece has a brass frame at the top that is stamped with the words "LEGIONNAIRE/ 1940" and the american Legion seal. Inside the frame is a paper label with the name "Fred R. Miller." The back of the frame has a pin and hook closure. Suspended from the frame is a satin ribbon with a brown, rainbow, black, rainbow and brown stripe pattern. The ribbon bears a printed inscription that reads: "22nd ANNUAL/ CONVENTION/ DEPT. OF/ KENTUCKY/ JULY 22-23/ 1940." The medallion that hangs from the ribbon has an image of a town with a coal barge on the river. Surrounding the image is the inscription: "ASHLAND/ WHERE COAL MEETS IRON." |
