Description |
This is a man's white cotton collar. There are three button holes along on edge, one on each side and one in the middle. The fabric has a fine pinstripe pattern woven into the fabric, and the lining on the back side of the collar is made of plain, white starched cotton. The back side of the collar is stamped with the maker's name and company logo: "E + W / EARL & WILSON." The owner's initials are handwritten in ink towards the center of the collar: HCS. The style name and number are also stamped on the collar: Wingate 152. There is also a set of initials stamped on the collar: HCS. |

This collar belonged to Lt. Henry Clay Simpson (1896-1986) of the Kentucky State Guard. He was the son of Minor Simpson and Lucretia Clay Erwin. |
