Description |
This is an advertisement out of "Kenny's Illustrated Cincinnati" with two advertisements on the front and back from 1875. The image on the front is for "The Ashland Furnace and the Ashland Coal Works" and it depicts a large factory with a large open building at the right side with a smaller building to the left of it. Behind that small building is a tall tower and a two story building behind that. Behind the large open building is a tall tank shaped tower with smokestacks on both sides and a pipe running down the side of it. That large tank shaped tower is attached to a tall building behind it by a walk way. In front of the building there is railroad tracks with a cart sitting on it with material in it at the left of the image. There are a few men walking around the front of the factory, one is next to a big pipe on the ground. The print below the image is about what they made. The image on the back side is for "Atlantic & Great Western R.R." and depicts the inside of a railroad passenger car. There are two rows of seats, one side has a curtain in between the seats, with decorative arm rest. There is a decorative ceiling with two chandeliers and piping at the top left. There is a door in the background. The print below the image is where they travel and the accommodations the passengers get while traveling. |
