Description |
This is a Kentucky fishing license (part a) in a small brown envelope (part a). Part a is Kentucky License for Resident Statewide Fishing printed on green paper. The left side of the license is reserved for the license issuer. The license was issued by Earl Cromwell of Smithland, Kentucky, who used a stamp to mark his name and contact information on the blank "issued by" lines. There is a statement on the bottom of the left side of the license that reads "I certify that I am a legal resident of Kentucky, having lived here one year prior to this date, and am therefore entitled by law to purchase a resident license." The license is signed by Darrell Posey. The bottom left edge of the license reads, "$3.25 / Not Tranferable (sic.) / Expires Dec. 31, 1963." The right side of the license reads "KENTUCKY LICENSE / RESIDENT STATEWIDE FISHING / NO. 23751." The license is dated July 10 and was issued to Darrell Posey. The license notes that his hometown was Henderson, and that he was 16 years old, 5' 4" tall, weighed 130 pounds, and had blue eyes and brown hair. The Commissioner of Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources signed his name along the bottom edge. The envelope (part b) is made of brown paper with black text. Darrell Posey's name is inscribed along the top edge of the flag. An inscription below reads, "HUNTING AND FISHING LICENSE / THIS FOLDER IS GIVEN YOU FOR / PROTECTING YOUR LICENSE. / WE SINCERELY HOPE YOU HAVE A / GOOD HUNTING AND FISHING SEASON / COMPLIMENT OF / SOUTHERN BELL TEL. & TEL. CO." The interior of the envelope lists the Conservation Pledge and a reminder to be careful with firearms, matches, and fires as fire cause interruptions to telephone services. The back side of envelope reminds the owner that the telephone company tries to offer people the best telephone service and asks sportsmen to not shoot down cables, wires, or glass insulators. |
