This is a cyclone drag scraper. It has wood handles and a steel scoop and frame. |
Notes |
Used by Joseph Trent Chatham on his Muhlenberg County farm near Greenville. A scraper was used to dig ponds, roads, trenches, or simply move dirt. Pulled with a team, the scraper was filled with relative ease, then dragged to the dirt's new home and dumped by the operator lifting on the handles. |
