Notes |
John Clarence Watts was a farmer and lawyer as well as a politician. He served as the Jessamine County Attorney from 1933 to 1945 and was a member of the Kentucky State House of Representatives from 1947 to 1948. He was elected as the U.S. Representative from Kentucky's 6th District in 1951 and served until his death in 1971. This object was donated on December 30, 1986 by Drexell Davis. Davis, a self-described "Yellow Dog" Democrat, held several elected positions in the Kentucky state government. His thirty-three years of public service prompted his interest in collecting political memorabilia. |
