Description |
This is a bronze plate with attached ribbon and medallion for an alternate delegate to the 1972 National Democratic Convention. The irregular shaped bronze plate has bas relief images of two palm trees on each side of state of Florida in a zigzagged oval and water at the bottom. The grosgrain ribbon has red, white and dark blue vertical stripes and is looped through the brass hanger on the back of the plate and through the ring on the medallion and sewn in place. The ribbon is cut at angles on the end. There is gold metallic lettering on the ribbon that reads "ALTERNATE". The bronze medallion is circular with bas relief of the Federal seal and lettering around the edge that reads "1972 DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION" and "MIAMI BEACH" separated by two stars. There is a printers union symbol is on the back. A straight pin with a broken swivel clasp is attached to the top plate on the back. |
