Description |
This is a souvenir badgefrom the 1900 United Confederate Veteran's reunion in Louisville, Kentucky. The piece is a celluloid shieldwith a colorized image of General Robert E. Lee in the center. Above the image is the inscription "REUNION U.C.V." in red. Beneath the image of Lee is an image of a shield with the stars and bars of the Confederate battle flag on it and a sword and canteen. Under those images is an inscription that says "LOUISVILLE/ MAY, 1900." A maker's mark is printed along the lower right edge and it reads "THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J." The piece has a red silk ribbon running through a hole at the top. |
