Description |
This is a lithographed campaign button that was created for the 1955 gubernatorial race for A. B. "Happy" Chandler and Harry Lee Waterfield. It has a solid white background and blue lettering which reads, "CHANDLER / WATERFIELD" with a solid blue dot in between the names. The button has two union labels printed onto the bottom edge. One of the labels belongs to the Amalgamated Lithographers of America. This button has a stick pin backing. |
Notes |
A. B. "Happy" Chandler and Harry Lee Waterfield would win the gubernatorial race of 1955. It would be Chandler's last successful campaign for governor. It was Waterfield's first successful campaign for Lt. Governor, a post where he would be the first person to successfully be elected twice. |
