Notes |
J.D. Buckman was the Democratic candidate for Lt. Governor in 1955 but lost in the general election. Earlier in his career, Buckman was a member of the Kentucky State House of Representatives for the 33rd District (1950-51, 1960-61). He was also a member of the Kentucky State Senate from both the 12th and the 14th district between 1962 and 1969. This object was donated on December 30, 1986 by Drexell Davis. Davis, a self-described "Yellow Dog" Democrat, held several elected positions in the Kentucky state government. His thirty-three years of public service prompted his interest in collecting political memorabilia. |
