Description |
This "Ocean Wave" patterned quilt was hand pieced and hand quilted in rows about ¼" apart. The quilting is six stitches per inch. The repeated pieced block pattern consists six horizontal rows of three large squares turned on a point. There are 1/2 squares (triangular shaped pieces) along the edges. The unusual printed fabric is a 2" brown flower print on a background of red which fades purposefully to pink and back to red, creating a checkerboard affect. It is broken by eight 1/8" stripes of brown which fade to white and back. The square is surrounded by alternating small triangles of solid white and triangles of dark blue with white print. The solid and print triangles are placed to create a square and give the illusion of waves radiating out from an island. There is a solid white backing and a blue binding. The quilt has a very thin layer of batting. |
