Description |
This political button is a celluloid-type button with a hook and pin latch on the back. The background of the front of the button is sepia with color photographs of George W. Bush on the viewer's left and Richard Cheney on the viewer's right. Separating the two photos is a dark blue federal eagle with a dark blue ribbon protruding from its beak that has "E PLURIBUS UNUM" printed in white. Overlaying the eagle is a shield with white stars on a dark blue field toward the top, and "GOP" printed in dark blue letters over the remainder of the shield, which is adorned with vertical red and white stripes. Around the edge at the top is "54th Inauguration" with two stars on each side in dark blue ink. Below this in red lettering is"BRINGING AMERICA TOGETHER." At the bottom is "PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH [STAR] VICE-PRESIDENT RICHARD CHENEY." |
Notes |
Vice President Al Gore of Tennessee and his running mate, Senator Joseph Lieberman, were defeated in the 2000 presidential race by Republicans George W. Bush (Governor of Texas) and Richard Cheney (Pennsylvania). Gore narrowly won the popular vote count but lost in the electoral college. |
