Notes |
This trophy was awarded to Slathe H. Snider, commonly known as "S.H." Mr. Snider grew up on a tobacco farm near Shelbyville, Ky. and learned farming from his father. S.H. Snider raised Burley tobacco in Kentucky for most of his life and won many Kentucky State Fair awards. In 1964, S.H. Snider's tobacco was chosen to be used exclusively for Benson and Hedges 100's cigarettes. He traveled to promote the cigarettes and visited the Philip Morris office in New York, N.Y., in October 1965. |
