Description |
This is a woman's dress including a day bodice (a), dickey (b), skirt (c) and detachable collar (d). They are all made of a beige silk print with rose and maroon flowers with lace and tucking. All is lined with a off-white cotton. The bodice (a) has a wide neckline trimmed with lace, additional lace in a "V" on the front and ¾ length sleeves with lace on the cuff. The dickey (b)has a small round opening with narrow collar. The upper is the silk with small vertical pleats. The lower section is made of unprinted off-white cotton. The collar (d) is the same print material wrapped around a stiff material. It is narrower at the middle than the ends and the ends have hook and eyes for closure. The skirt (c) is full length with a slight flair. It has lace in a "V" shape at the calf level. The bottom is finished with lace and a ruffle. The cotton underskirt also has a ruffle. A separate piece appears to be a detached open cap sleeve that has been used (only one). There are six randomly shaped pieces of the silk material that appear to be scraps and unused. They show the color of the silk fabric before use and wear. |
