Description |
This oak table has an octagonal top that is heavily inlaid with a variety of woods. There are four squares in the middle of four sides with a fifth square in the middle. Between each square along the outside are small triangular shaped areas with inlay. The designs range from geometric to floral. There is a strip of inlay in the shape of a chain on each side of the octagonal top as well as at each corner. The base has a "X" or cross design. The feet are curved and there is a finial dropping from the top of each support. |

This table was supposedly made by the prisoners of the Kentucky State Penitentiary in Frankfort. It was made for Governor Luke Pryor Blackburn in recognition of his work on prison reform. |
