Description |
This is a shaving mug made of English Iron Stone China by the J. Davis Co. of the Trent Pottery. It has been broken and glued, with some pieces missing. It is white with a cranberry colored band around the upper half of the mug. There are remnants of gold around the bottom and top edges, as well as the handle. There is a black transfer on the bottom showing the English seal, (a lion, crowned cartouche, unicorn), over the words "Iron Stone China/J. Davis". There is overall crazing of the glaze. |
