Description |
This is a child's embroidered cutwork cap. It is made of white alternating eyelet cotton, with cream colored silk ribbon ties. The cotton alternates between embroidered and stitched panels. There is an eyelet embroidered trim, with a scalloped edge and gathered seams at the bottom of the crown. There is a plain cotton sweatband underneath the front of the bonnet. It is hand-stitched. |

A 1958 letter from the donor, Lucy Logan Desha, states, "The baby clothes were worn by various little Desha babies--not historic persons at all." |
