This uniform belonged to Grace Blair Skaggs Kelley (1901-1982). Grace rose to the rank of Sergeant in the Womens Auxiliary Corps, the women's branch of the United States Army, during World War II. Born in Edmonson County to Caperna Dossey and Jessie Sylvester Blair, Grace was working as a clerk and living in Louisville at the start of the war. She enlisted in Cincinnati in 1942. Grace was the sister of the donor, Arnold Raymond "Ray" Blair. |
