Description |
This is a set of United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) decorations and awards that belonged to Charlotte O. Woodbury of Louisville, Kentucky. The pins are in a shadow box with a black frame. Inside the piece is lined with black velvet and two vertical ribbons of alternating white and red stripes. Four pins are attached to each of the ribbons. The following pins are on the left ribbon: Presedent General of the United Daughters of the Confederacy 1935-1937; President Kentucky Division U.D.C 1911-1913; Historian General U.D.C 1926-27-28; and an Alabama U.D.C. pin. The following pins are on the right ribbon: The Andrews Medal 1925; The Roberts Medal; a ribbon bar enameled with red and white stripes with the initials "J.D.H." in the center; and a Children of the Confederacy pin. Between the two ribbons are a John Hunt Morgan Monument Committee pin and a U.D.C. badge/pendant. At the bottom center of the shadow box is a brass plate engraved with "CHARLOTTE O. WOODBURY/ PRESIDENT GENERAL/ U.D.C." |

These are the United Daughters of the Confederacy medals of Charlotte O. Woodbury of Louisville, Kentucky. Mrs. Woodbury served in several positions in the U.D.C. including the President General of the national organization, the Historian General, the President of the Kentucky Chapter and other posts. |
