Morton of Hartford, Kentucky in 1860, she turned her time and attention to literary pursuits. Mrs. Morton was a member of the Lyceum, a Frankfort literary society which was the progenitor of the revived Kentucky State Historical Society (now the Kentucky Historical Society). She was elected secretary-treasurer and regent of the society in 1906 and was the founder and original editor of the society's journal, "Register of the Kentucky Historical Society." She held these positions with the society until her death in 1920. William T. Hunleigh was born in 1848 and died in 1916. |
