Description |
These are a pair of "Kentucky" spurs from around the 1850s. They are made of wrought iron and leather. They each have a ten-tine rowel with one inch tines. Each has a stud on each arm for a leather instep strap, one (the left one, part A) has the original leather strap and the other (the right one, part B) just has a leather string and a chain. The part of the spur that is the outside has a floral design on it. The leather strap on the left spur has "KY" cut into it on the back. |

Pair, supposedly came with the silver trimmed Mexican War saddle and stirrups that the Historical Society received from the family of Nathan C. Cook, the architects of the Old State Arsenal Building. |
