Description |
This 9-11 (September 11th) flag is made of a white cotton sheet with a blue painted canton with white handprints along with red and white stripes. The red stripes are comprised of rows of red handprints. The design of this flag is based on the American flag. There are 97 red hand prints and 30 white handprints (28 of these are on the blue canton background). The stripes are outlined by black permanent marker. There are sets of initials written with felt tipped permanent marker that were signed by participants. The "hoist" end of the flag is made of cotton cutwork lace. The three remaining sides of the sheet are hemmed by machine. |
Notes |
This flag was created by the students at Southern Ohio College as a memorial to those people killed on September 11, 2001 in the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington. |
