Description |
This painting is of Independence Hall in Philadelphia. It shows a red brick building with a white cupola. There is a carriage drawn by horses in the lower right. There is an American flag flying from a flag pole on top of the building in the center of the painting. |

"Presented to Kentucky by the Patriotic Citizens of Philadelphia in 1892 in memory of her (Kentucky) entrance to the Union in 1792." The file indicates this was a Kentucky Centennial gift. See KY ACTS Resolution Number 32 approved May 24, 1892. Briscoe, an American, was born in 1844 and died 1903. |
