Notes |
This is from the home of Henry Harrison Gambill (1874-1936) and John James Gambill (1874-1933) who were medical doctors in Blaine, Kentucky. Henry specialized in obstetrics and gynecology. John specialized in the eye, ear, nose, and throat. Both were actively involved in the agricultural, business, and social community in and around Blaine. This item likely belonged to Henry Gambill. Andrew Jergens Company started about 1882 in as the Western Soap Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. There were several name changes around 1886, but eventually the company was using the Andrew Jergens Co. name only. The Jergens Company was purchased by American Brands in 1970 which in turn was purchased by the Kao Company in 1988. |
