Notes |
Whiskey flasks embossed with a hiker/prospector image and the words "For Pike's Peak" date to the 1858-1861 gold rush in the Pike's Peak country of Colorado. American glass makers began casting inexpensive, mold-formed flasks in the early 1800s. Often decorated with national or historic symbols, they were popular with ordinary consumers. They were often filled with whiskey. |
