Description |
This is a solid based trivet (or spider) with a handle and a spout on the side. There is a second handle that rotates on the center of the main handle. |
Notes |
"Spider" legs on a cooking pot allowed it to be used in a fireplace or open hearth without turning over or spilling its contents. The raised rim prevented grease or drippings from spilling and the spout allowed the grease to be poured into a storage container. |
