This white ceramic plate has red transfer image of Stratford Hall in the center top. Around this is molded floral decoration. On the bottom is a transfer stamp of a signature: RE Lee then "STRATFORD HALL / WESTMORELAND COUNTY, VIRGINIA / BIRTHPLACE OF / R.E. LEE. / WEDGWOOD / ETRURIA ENGLAND" and "SOLE IMPORTER / JONES McDUFFEE & STRATTON CO. / BOSTON" with a lion logo. |

Jones, McDuffee and Stratton Co. formed from another company in 1871 and used that name until 1960. Wedgwood started producing historical American china - scenes, events, personalities, buildings, monuments, educational institutions, civic and national landmarks, and ships for which they are well known about 1900. Some designed were exclusively for Jones, McDuffee and Stratton Co. |
