Description |
This is a circular lithographed metal political button for the presidential campaign of Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale in 1980. The button has a white background with a red border on which white lettering reads "UNITED LABOR" across the top, two white stars at the 8 o'clock and 4 o'clock positions and a union bug of the AFL/CIO is centered at the bottom. In the middle white area, navy blue lettering reads "FOR/ CARTER/ AND/ MONDALE". Around the curled edge white lettering reads "UNITED LABOR FOR CARTER & MONDALE - WM. P. HAYNES, TREAS. union bug (unintelligible) N.G. Slater Corp., N.Y.C.10011". There is a stick pin attached to the curled edge back. |
