Description |
This is a masonry hammer. Is has a thick wooden handle and an iron head. The head has a rounded end and a wedge shaped end. "FADM" is carved in the handle. |
Notes |
Collected by former staff at Eastern State Hospital for a planned museum, 1956-69. Eastern was opened in 1824 as the state "Lunatic Asylum." The collection documented the lives of patients as sick persons and as wards of the state forced to earn their keep. |
