Description |
This poster is a reprint of a Zachary Taylor and Millard Fillmore campaign poster. This poster is printed with black ink on pink paper. This poster print shows a campaign banner for Whig Party candidates in the national election of 1848. The banner promotes Zachary Taylor and his vice presidential running mate Millard Fillmore. The border of the print depicts a curtain drawn back. Toward the top is an eagle sitting with its wings stretched out. The eagle is sitting on top of a globe that says "America" with two American flags coming out from the center. Below are oval-shaped portraits of Zachary Taylor, to the left, and Millard Fillmore, to the right. Below Taylor, a ribbon says, "The People's President & From 1849." Below Fillmore, a ribbon says, "Choice for Vice President to 1853." The bottom of the print states, "Grand, National, Whig Banner." and "Press Onward." |
