Description |
This is a photographic portrait of William A. Webber I done on canvas. Pictured is a blue-eyed white man of late middle age with short white hair and a full white beard. He wears a single-breasted coat, collared vest, white shirt, and black bow tie. Apart from the flesh tones of the face and blue eyes, the rest of the portrait is done in varying shades of charcoal gray. There is a gray mat surrounding the portrait and four layers of gilt molding composing the frame. There is a paper label on the back of the frame that reads "from Pape Bros. ML.DG Co.", with some illegible pencil inscriptions. |

William A. Webber I (1817-1905) was a farmer from Jessamine County, Kentucky. He was the founder of Webber Farms, founder of the Farmer's National Bank in Cynthiana, and the Director of the Harrison County Agricultural Association. He was elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1877. |
