Notes |
This is one of two prototype Venus 22-2 Machine Pistols in the Kentucky Historical Society collection. It is based on a design by Austrian weapons designer Heinrich Von Wimmersperg. This example was made by Venus Corporation of Utica, Michigan after the company acquired rights to Von Wimmersperg's design. It is unclear how many were manufactured by Venus Corporation but it is believed that only prototypes exist. The design was later produced by the Columbian company Policarpa and marketed as the Policarpa 22-2. It is not known how many were produced. The example was donated by Alex Cuthbertson, president of Venus Corporation. |
