Notes |
This parka was worn by E-4 Kelly Withers, who was born and reared in Frankfort, Kentucky. Items in this collection were either used or given to him while serving in the United States Army during Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Withers served on search and rescue missions for downed Allied pilots during his service and in the War. He was wounded during the Gulf War. This unusual camouflage pattern was used during the Gulf War to evade night vision optics of the era. |
