Description |
This is an oval celluloid process metal political button with two satin ribbons with gold metallic lettering attached for a delegate to the 1980 Republican National Convention. The button has a white background with thirteen dark blue stars around the left side, red lettering on the left that reads "I'M A/ 1980/ NATIONAL/ CONVENTION/ DELEGATE" and a cartoon image of a gray elephant with raised trunk and open red mouth on the right side wearing a red, white and dark blue top hat, black bow tie and white buttoned vest. One ribbon is dark blue with lettering that reads "1980" and vertical lettering that reads "REPUBLICAN/ CONVENTION". The other ribbon is red with lettering that reads "July 14-20" and vertical lettering that reads "DETROIT/ MICHIGAN" and an unreadable union label is below. The ribbons with cut ends are stapled to the black cardboard backing. A clasp pin closure is attached to the back. |
