This is a letter from C. C. Hagemeyer & Co. of Butler, Kentucky to a client ? E. Earl of Lexington, Kentucky. The piece has the C. C. Hagemeyer letterhead at the top and a stamped inscription/signature line at the bottom. The letter is handwritten. The letterhead reads "C. C. HAGEMEYER, PRES. C. P. HAGEMEYER, V. PRES M. C. HAGEMEYER, SEC./ BUTLER MILLS/ C. C. HAGEMEYER & CO. Incorporated/ DEALERS IN AND MANUFACTURERS OF/ Flour, MEal, Rough and Dressed Lumber, Shingles,/ LATH, DOORS, SASH, FRAMES, TOBACCO HOGSHEADS." A square to the side has an inscription that reads "BRANDS OF FLOUR./ "CLIMAX" FANCY PATENT./ "IMPERIAL" PATENT./ "MONARCH" FANCY./ "DIAMOND" FANCY." The letter is dated "May 28th 01" and discusses the prices of shipping several different types of flour to Danville and Versailles, Kentucky via Lexington. |
